Arthur Christakos

Arthur's business experience is comprised of 40+ years in the material handling, transportation and commercial truck up-fitting measured by results based performance in management, sales, marketing, operations engineered systems, administration, parts, service, manufacturing and training. Also led inter-departmental cross-functional teams covering Customer Satisfaction/Net Promoter, Customer Relationship/Engagement Management, Business Process Re-engineering.  Customer base was small entrepreneurs to Fortune 100 giants primarily across Canada and the United States.
Arthur's volunteer background goes back many years to Big Brothers of Peel, Children's Aid Society, Baxter Snow Riders/D7/OFSC, Baxter Severn ATV Trail Riders and, in the last couple of years, the Segbay Chamber of Commerce. Arthur, his wife and son love the south east area of Georgian Bay and have been around for over 25 years.
Recognizing the potential of the surrounding community, Arthur is committed to providing the enthusiastic support required to promote and grow the economic opportunities through the Chamber by listening to the local business owners, the municipal groups, the residents, the seasonal cottagers and the related representatives in Township of Georgian Bay, Severn township and Tay township.

Fred Wareing

Fred Wareing is the current Vice President of the Chamber and has been on the board since 2012.  Fred has been the chair of the Chamber’s Golf Tournament in support of the Georgian Bay General Hospital Foundation and Wendat Seniors Programs.  Fred is a retired executive who has lived in Port Severn since 2006.  Fred is a member of the Georgian Bay Council appointed Community Advisory Group for the Honey Harbour Waterfront Improvement Program.

Bryan Coxworth

Bryan first started cottaging in this area in 1958 when his parents purchased a lot on Go Home Lake in the auction and built their cottage the following spring. Bryan grew up on the lake and later raised his 3 children there too. Bryan moved to the area on a full-time basis in 1997 and now lives on the shores of Georgian Bay near Port Severn with his partner Vikki.  Bryan is a full-time Real Estate Broker with Royal LePage In Touch Realty and sells Residential, Recreational and Commercial Properties from Waubaushene to Mactier and all areas in between. Previously, Bryan has volunteered with the Township of Georgian Bay and SEGBAY Chamber of Commerce including all three Just Add Water Festivals and The Amazing Race. Bryan is looking forward to continuing to help support our local businesses through his work with the Chamber.

Roni’s focus is to always be the friendly go-to store for customers daily grocery needs and for fun and tasteful gift items. Roni also believes in giving back to the community and supports several local charity events.

Peter Olmstead has been the owner/producer of Big Fish Video Productions since 1997. Big Fish Video Productions is the premier video new media production company that specializes in helping businesses to focus their marketing communications and training strategies. Using proven methods and leading-edge technology, BFV deliver fresh ideas with stunning results.  Peter’s Volunteer and Board experience include: Marketing and Communications Consultant for the AIDS Committee of Simcoe County, President, Freelance Producer and Instructor at the Centre for the Advancement of Video Excellence, Juror for the Shorts Competition, Programming and Special Events and Producer of a 23 minute promotion for Rogers Television at the Barrie Film Festival; Special Event Fundraising and Video Producer ‘Studio Views’ and Docent for elementary schools, technical media requirements for the MacLaren Art Centre; Chair, BOD of Gryphon Theatre in Barrie.  Peter is also an active member of both the Vaughan and Barrie Chambers of Commerce.

Sharon Hales

President, ABB Hotel Management Group Inc

Sharon is currently the President of her own hospitality consulting  company as well as ABB Hotel Management Group Inc. Both companies have  been in operation since early 2011 and were developed to assist hotel  owners with the ever-changing and challenging, daily operations of their  properties.  Since the inception of SMH Hospitality, Sharon has had  several contracts.  She held the role of Operations Manager at The  Walper Hotel; a historic, boutique hotel in downtown Kitchener from May  2012 until the hotel sold in August 2013.  She was also contracted by  the Waterloo Region Tourism Marketing Partnership to handle marketing  efforts while the organization was in transition.  She has assisted  several properties with operations, sales and marketing on a pro rata  basis including the Best Western Plus Kitchener, Best Western Plus Cairn  Croft Hotel, Best Western Plus Liverpool and the Best Western North  Bay.  Sharon is an active shareholder at the award winning Best Western  Plus Orangeville Inn & Suites.
ABB Hotel Management Group  Inc. has been involved with the design and management of the Best  Western Plus Strathroy Gateway Hotel & Conference Centre and the  Best Western Premier Aurora Hotel & Suites since May 2011.  Both  hotels are in the construction phase and are scheduled to open in the  Fall 2014.  The newest contract for the company is the Knights Inn  Niagara Falls. The hotel is currently in receivership and is in full  operation under our management.
Sharon has over 28 years of  hospitality experience.  Most recently, she was an integral part of a  Best Western success story in Ontario.  As shareholder and General  Manager of the multi award winning Best Western Plus St. Jacobs Country  Inn, she assisted her team in a record 12 perfect QA scores in a row,  dominated the market with high occupancy and ADR (market capture  effectiveness of 130% for both occupancy and revpar on a monthly basis)  and appeared in a national advertising campaign for several years.
Sharon  has extensive knowledge of the Kitchener-Waterloo hotel market and has  sat on several tourism boards.  She has been a volunteer for K-W  Oktoberfest for 12 years and is a member, Director and Past President of  SKAL Hamilton. Sharon currently sits as the Chair of the Best Westerns  of Ontario and Quebec Co-op and has done so since 2010.  Prior to this  appointment she held the positions of Secretary, Vice Chair, Marketing  Chair and Sales Committee Liaison since 2000.  She was also a Director  and Ambassador for the Best Western Global Marketing Group from  2005-2012.  This co-op develops sales and marketing initiatives for Best  Western properties who want to attract International travellers  (individual, group, series).
Sharon has a passion for the  hospitality industry is willing to take on any challenge. Her experience  at overall hotel operations (other hotel experience plus leadership in  tourism organizations), sales and marketing, hotel systems, revenue  management, quality control, cost control, etc. is second to none.  She  excels at superior customer care and always achieving high customer  satisfaction ratings which results in higher revenues and occupancies.

Dave grew up in the Waubaushene – Port Severn area attending primary school in Waubaushene and Fesserton. After completing high school At MSS Dave attended U of T earning a BaSC chemical engineering. Currently a member in good standing PEO.

After one year at 7UP Canada Dave joined a small privately owned auto parts and polyureathane manufacturing company in Woodbridge Ontario. During a 40 year career work  experience included process and operational duties followed by senior  executive functions as head of technology for 23 years.

Consistent with the company growth from approximately $35m sales to ultimately $1.8B experience included facility installs, business development and operational excellence in 20 countries world wide.

Responsibilities included product development, R and D, business start ups, customer service, Engineering, Purchasing, executive committees and many BOD positions for wholly owned companies and joint ventures.

Currently, Dave and his wife Pat live on Georgian Bay south of Port Severn and are looking forward to supporting and becoming more active in the community.

With my background as a Social Service Worker and Art Therapist, I excel at creating strong,
authentic relationships. I am deeply observant about the subtleties of relationship dynamics and use
my insights to guide others towards healthier interactions in their own lives-whether personal or
professional.
Being part of 2 family businesses I am also skilled at navigating the delicate nature of these dual
relationships and have successfully helped others to do the same.
My work has involved:
• mediating conflict conversations between family members/employees;
• coaching senior leaders to prepare for difficult conversations;
• creating HR policies and employee handbooks to align a business' values with their
operational needs;
• facilitating workshops in the areas of employee mental health, engagement, and
communication.
